Radio broadcasts at Ege University have been in operation since the 1990s. The first radio station broadcasting at Ege University was "Yeni Dalga Radyosu 89" (YDR-89), which was put into operation by Ege University School of Press and Broadcasting. Today, the programs on YDR-89, which started broadcasting internationally with a closed circuit technique from the first and second floors of Ege University Faculty of Communication and the student canteen, were prepared by the School of Press and Broadcasting. In 2001, it started broadcasting on the "Radio Ege Campus 100.8" FM band by Ege University Information and Communication Technologies Application and Research Center (BİTAM). With the new arrangement made in 2009, Radio Ege Campus moved to the radio building in Ege University Student Village and has consolidated its broadcasts from its studios since 2009. With the establishment of Ege University Media Application and Research Center (EGEMM) in 2017, Radio Ege Campus continues its activities under EGEMM.
